Nearly 20 years ago, Michael Hicks transformed a career in corporate business (with a finance/accounting degree from Indiana University Kelley School of Business) into a farming/homesteading path more aligned with his interests of self-sufficient living, earth stewardship, and teaching others. Over the past years, Michael has taught more than 200 students and staff members at Living Roots Farm and Organic Farm School farming and homesteading topics. Currently, Living Roots Farm grows around 100,000 lbs of produce each year on 5 acres and produces more than 20,000 lbs of Pastured Meats on the rest of the 75-acre farm.
